When you feel like Niagara Falls is running down your leg...#PeeHappens !

Disclosure:  I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for Always Discreet.  I received product samples to facilitate my review and a promotional item to thank me for my participation.  As always all opinions expressed here are my own.

There is a Natural Wonder in North America that people travel from all over the world to come and witness.  This Natural wonder is Niagara Falls!  Millions of gallons of water rocket over the falls of Niagara every minute while people flock to the nearby state park to get as close as possible to "feel Niagara's flow"!  Now what if I told you over 40 million American women don't even have to step foot in New York to "feel Niagara's flow"!  Yes this is true!  I am talking about sensitive bladder!

Sensitive bladder can happen as we age and it's not something to be embarrassed about!  Our bodies go through a lot!  After being pregnant or having birth the pelvic floor support weakens, menopause, and other health conditions can also lead to urinary incontinence.  I remember growing up my own mom had urinary incontinence.  I remember how embarrassed I was when she would have an "accident" while coughing or sneezing.  I did not understand sensitive bladders until after giving birth to my third child and we bought a trampoline.  I wanting to be the "fun" mom got up and started jumping on the trampoline, this was my first incident.  I was horrified and embarrassed and disappointed.  They say because so many women are too embarrassed to talk about it,  most go several years before bringing it up to their doctors to be diagnosed and treated.

I just wanted to say even over here at Buckeye Moms Meet we deal with sensitive bladder frequently and there is nothing to be ashamed of!  Now what if I told you that there is help!?  You do not need to feel like you have Niagara falls running down your leg any longer.  You can sneeze, cough, exercise again in public without fear!  There is a great line of products to help!

Always Discreet has an entire line of products that include liners, pads, and underwear specially designed to meet all bladder control needs from small leaks to the falls that get your socks wet!
Always is a global leader in feminine protection.  With Always discreet products, bladder leaks are no big deal and women can enjoy life's activities again!

Always Discreet Was recently granted the good housekeeping seal and named Product of the Year in bladder protection, proving they can be trusted to provide discreet, comfortable, and incredible protection from leaks.  Always Discreet Liners were also granted a Better Homes and Gardens Best New Product Award!!  In just six months since it's launch, Always Discreet has earned some of the most trusted consumer product credentials in the category!

so lets go over the facts again, shall we?

  • Developing a sensitive bladder can happen at any age.
  • It happens to 1 in 3 women in the U.S.
  • sensitive bladder leaks are a reality to more than 40 million American women
  • only 1 in 9 women are using the correct products for protection.
  • There is nothing to be embarrassed about...#PeeHappens
As for me, I like the Always Discreet Pads and liners!  The pads for when I'm more active, running or jumping.  The liners are great for just everyday protection.  They do have the underwear for maximum protection, but for me I don't have a need for that much protection...yet :)

Happy Birthday, America!!!!

It all started many many moons ago!  As a young child in this big big world!  My LOVE for this country!  I grew up in a family who loved this country like non other!  You would never find my mom without some sort of US flag on her attire!  My dad retired Navy and many of my brothers joined the Army, Navy, and Marines!  Dad was always watching the History channel and Mom the political debates!  My mom swore the best song to ever come out was Proud to be an American!

When fourth of July came around (which happened to be mom's favorite holiday) we would all pack up in the car and head somewhere to see a spectacular firework show!  This day was always a huge deal!!  Now that Mom has gone to watch the great fireworks show from above, her legacy and her love for this country lives on within my own family!!

I have always enjoyed the festivities of this great day, but now I love it even more!  I love it because it brings back all the great memories of my mom and her love for our great country!  Each year I go all out!  The Dollar store is my best friend when it comes to decorating!  My children get a new all Americana outfit, we decorate, BBQ, picnic, and watch fireworks!!

Here is a list of must haves for a great fun filled day with the kiddos!

  • First a LOVE for this country!!
  • Fly our beautiful flag where ever you may be, even if its a mini handheld flag!
  • Decorations!  Garlands, lanterns, table cloths!
  • Cute Americana outfit or Bathing suit!!
  • Hot dogs, Hamburgers, Watermelon :)
  • Sparklers for nighttime
  • Glow sticks!!!
Glow sticks are great for all ages!  If you are worried about the younger kiddos with sparklers, then this is the way to go!  It's always great to have them before hand because I guarantee someone will be selling them everywhere you go for triple the price and your kid is going to want one!  The package I have above comes with 100 bracelets that are bright and long lasting!  They can be linked together to form a necklace or a super huge long string of light!  the possibilities are endless with a hundred of them!!

Now you have everything you need for a great day and night! Go out and find your local firework show and enjoy the celebration!  Celebrate our Independence and have a beautiful day!!

All of my decorations and sparklers were purchased at the dollar store, which is ...well... a dollar! These awesome Super Bright Longest Lasting Glow Stick Bracelets  come in a tube of 100 pieces on Amazon!

Happy Birthday America!!!  Home Of The Brave, Land Of The Free!

Disclosure:  I received the glow sticks mentioned above for free to share with you all!  All opinions expressed here are my own.

The Day I Died, I was Born...A Tribute for Father's Day

The day I died I was born!  True story!  My mom was having labor pains so her and my dad rushed off to the hospital.  There were some complications with the delivery and I came out with my cord wrapped around my neck and no heartbeat.  I was pronounced dead.  My dad not being able to handle the news had to leave the room.  He was absolutely shattered!   Then came the miracle that he would never forget!  I started to cry.  They ran out and retrieved my dad to tell him the wonderful news!  He finally had a baby girl to call his own.  He was scared and proud and full of emotion.

Every chance my dad got he loved telling me this story!  The day of my birth and death all in the same.  My  parents conceived seven times and only had three of us make it full term.  I am the middle child and the only biological girl (my parents adopted my sister after I had moved out of the house).  This made me the only Daddy's little girl, and I LOVED this role!

Dad would wake up before anyone else in the house so he could enjoy his newspaper and coffee.  I loved when he was home because I too awoke before anyone else and this was daddy and me time!  He would build a crackling fire to warm up the house, and we would sit and chat, just the two of us.  Dad would share the comics section of the newspaper.  I would feel like a real grown up sitting and reading the paper with my dad!

On Sunday mornings dad would make the best coffee cake you could imagine!  This was always a great time to spend with dad and delight the late risers with a delicious treat!  I always got to add the crumb topping on top :)

Dad was a hard worker!  The hardest worker of anyone I have known.  He always had a job and supported our family greatly!  He worked on the Submarines in the Navy until he retired which made him gone A LOT!  We spent countless Christmas, birthdays, graduations and so on with him being deployed.  I remember sitting in my room one day crying while listening to a song, Daddy won't be home again for Christmas by Merle Haggard.  Being a military baby I feel like I was jipped of time with my dad!  As I am sure many military families feel.

After dad retired the Navy he went right to work on an off shore oil rig.  Dad would work one week on and then have one week off.  I will never forget the excitement of seeing his car pull into the driveway and him stepping out as he flung his big duffel of laundry over his shoulder.  We would all run out to greet him and give him the biggest hug ever!  Dad always smelled of Diesel engines my whole life!  Whenever he would return home from WEST PAC or the rig he had a distinctive smell to him.  If I try hard enough I can still smell it...I loved that smell!  That was the scent that told me my hero was home... even if only for a short time.

My dad was a man's man!  He worked hard and played even harder.  He enjoyed hunting, building cool little buildings, camping, Gold mines, shooting, and drinking beer!  He also had a soft side to him. He was compassionate and always had a warm grin to share. Dad would reach his hand out to grab your hand as you walked by.  He loved kids and he loved helping people.

Dad was strong!  He was a no nonsense kind of man.  He was not afraid to give you "the look" when he disapproved of something.  His temples would pulse if he was angry.

Dad became ill when I was nineteen.  I remember the call like it was yesterday telling me he had prostate cancer.  I thought for sure he of all people would beat it!  I could not believe anything could bring my dad down.  He was too strong for anything to defeat him!!  Unfortunately I had to watch my hero suffer for four years as the cancer took over his body claiming him at the young age of 54!

I was robbed once again of time with my dad, and my hero.  My dad left this physical world too soon, but the time I did have with him was AMAZING!!!

Father's Day is just around the corner and I will continue to celebrate you!  Happy Father's Day to the best man to walk this earth!  I loved when you would tell me the story of my birth and I'm sorry to make you cry that day!  Thank you for being the BEST!!

  Love you...your baby girl

Blueberry Granola Breakfast Cookies

Whether you are in a hurry to get out the door or lounging around on a Saturday, an easy simple breakfast is always nice!  I tend to wake up too early everyday because I need some time to myself before everyone else awakes to process the new day and get back on my feet!  Me time...if you will!  I usually keep actual cooked breakfast for the weekend because there is just so much to do in the mornings.  Awake the kids, get them dressed, hair and teeth brushed, shoes on the right feet, papers signed, lunches packed...you get the point!  This family eats more than their fair share of cold cereal during the week and I wanted to find some breakfast ideas that are still easy and fast, but warm and a little healthier!

I found a recipe on the side of a Krusteaz Blueberry muffin box and with some major modifications I have invented the tastiest little warm morsels you could ask for!!  First off I will say I love Krusteaz!  I am not getting paid to say that, and this is not a sponsored post, I just really love the price and simplicity of their products!  I understand it's not Gluten free and maybe overly processed Yada Yada Yada, but I really don't give a hoot when it comes to their products!  They are affordable and yummy to my tummy!  There I said it...whew!  Now back to my super fabulous, super easy, Breakfast cookies!

Here is what I did

  • Preheated the oven to 350
I then added these ingredients to a bowl

  • Krusteaz blueberry muffin mix
  • 1 1/4 cup honey almond granola
  • 1/2 cup organic coconut oil
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries
  • 1 organic free range dog egg (Dog is the name of our chicken)
  • 1/2 cup blueberries
I mashed all the ingredients together with my hands (the coconut oil made my hands nice and soft!)
rolled the dough into 2 inch balls and placed on a cookie sheet on parchment paper!

cooked for 10 minutes and  DONE!! (throws hands up in the air, like on master chef)

As you can see the whole process took less than twenty minutes and we had warm, tummy filling, delicious COOKIES for breakfast!

What is your go to breakfast during the week??

What did May bring to the table??

Over here at Buckeye Moms Meet we had a pretty fantastic time in May!   The month of May brought our family much growth and exploration!

We began this awesome Month with a trip to Walt Disney World Orlando for the 2015 Disney Social Media Moms Celebration!  We spent the week learning and exploring all new territory!  It was the kiddos first time on an airplane and the whole family's first time to Florida!  We had a fantastic time!

You can read all about it here on my Blog!!  We returned home from Orlando to the kiddos last week of the school year!!

We celebrated an 8th grade promotion, an acceptance into the National junior Honor Society, and finishing the school year off with each one of the kiddos making the Honor roll and principals list! Woo Hoo we are officially on Summer Break!

I reviewed an awesome program that is helping childhood anxiety called Go Zen!  In case you missed it you can read my post here!   I also got to try out Pearl Scents by renuzit and now my office smells of sparkling rain, I love my Pearl Scents!!

We had a teen Birthday Party which ended up being a big hit with the guests!  You can read all about the Spa Party and get some fun Ideas here!  We had a sleepover and watched Pitch Perfect 2 at the movie theater with lots of popcorn!!

To close out the month we went camping in our RV with our Yamaha Rhino in Box Wash canyon near Wickenburg, Arizona!  This is a great area to get away for the weekend and do some boon docking!  While there we visited Vulture Mine and went on the two hour walking tour!!  We had seen Vulture mine on The Ghost Adventures and thought we would do some ghost hunting ourselves!  We didn't see any ghosts but learned a lot of history about the mine and the surrounding area!

We had a busy Month!  We learned a lot, we grew a lot, and we made many lifetime memories!  What exciting things did you do for the month of May??

Have a wonderful day and hopefully June brings you lots of adventures, love, and happiness :)
